How much do your counselling sessions cost?
Our counselling sessions are free to melanoma patients, their family and friends, as malignant melanoma does not only impact on the patient but their loved ones too. Although, we are grateful to any donations as we are a non-profitable organisation relying on funding and donations.

Do you cover other areas other than Sunderland?
Yes, we have outreach rooms in Washington and we also provide email and telephone counselling or support to those from surrounding areas too.

What factor sunscreen should I use?
Through our findings it is recommended a good standard sunscreen protection is one with an SPF of 30 (UVB protection) and a UVA rating of 4 or 5 stars in addition to shade and clothing. It is important to choose a high SPF and UVA star rating, supermarket home brands offer reasonable priced ones, so you don’t need to pay a fortune to stay safe in the sun. Children however, should be protected with the highest SPF and UVA star rating as well as addition to shade and clothing also.
