Skin-cancer Prevention in Time Training Awards

Our Beauty, Health and Well-being Time Training Award is a 2 1/2 hr course, including refreshments, delivered by Melanoma-Me Foundation.
What is included: face to face training, really case studies and images, group discussions and ‘food for thought’ dilemmas. Alongside this we offer aftercare and support to every attendee, with an added bonus of being able to sign post clients affected by skin cancer to Melanoma-Me Foundation, for free counselling or support. On completion of the course, you will receive your accredited Time Training Award and gain client confidence.

Our Workplace Time Training Award can be achieved as either a Time Training Award or Time Training Gold Award; with a certificate presented on completion of awards achieved.
The Time Training award will be achieved by completing our awareness session, by either, a 2 hour drop in session or a 1 1/2 hr presentation, delivered by Melanoma-Me. We take a person-centred approach, with a one stop service from the awareness through to support and referrals, for those affected by skin cancer. To achieve our Time Training Gold Award the workforce will be required to complete the awareness session as stated in the Time Training Awards, as well as completing a risk assessment set out by our health and safety professional. This is to identify risk factors in all areas of sun protection and developing ideas to minimise these risks.

Our Schools Time Training Awards is a 5-stage approach, with the awareness training and guidance delivered by MelanomaMe. to school staff members. Pupils will gain their awareness and sun safety within the capacity of an age appropriate delivery. We are also keen to involve pupils families/carers by running drop in sessions (workshops) during parents evenings etc., with the schools backing, to promote sun safety from home to school. Every school will be presented with our Time Training award on completion of each stage. On completion of their final stage is an opportunity to be added to our own Time Training register.

We also offer a Learning Institution Time Training Awards, which is based on a similar structure as our schools Time Training Awards, depending on the institute. Pupils will gain their awareness and sun safety within the capacity of an age appropriate delivery. With secondary schools we are keen to involve pupils families/carers by running drop in sessions (workshops) during parents evenings etc. This will be achieved with the schools backing, to promote sun safety from home to school.

The new guidelines for GDPR come into force 25th May 2018. MelanomaMe. holds data classified as “personal data” and “sensitive personal data” This information is held both manually and on computer. Where the company holds files or information on an individual, they are held on them to comply with the project requirements. They can view manual files by putting requests in writing giving a 24 hour notice. No information will be used for direct promotion or sold or passed to third parties unless agreed with the service user and in case of young people their parent’s consent. All information is stored securely in locked cabinets. All data held on computer is only accessible by authorised staff members via a password. Counselling information will be held under a coded correspondence that can’t be linked to a service users name or contact details. Personal information will be deleted from messages or emails and stored as above. Service user’s data will only be collected for the purpose of referral information and held for a maximum of 7 years after no longer accessing MelanomaMe’s services. All service users are given the option to opt out of email, telephone or text messages. Service users have the right to ask for their information to be taken of MelaonmaMe’s accessible data. However, counselling information will be kept securely filed as above and only accessed if the service user gives written permission, to which this will then be correctly destroyed after 7 years of the service users no longer accessing MelanomaMe’s services.
