Robbie
I was first compelled to apply for this role at Melanoma-Me due to having lived experience of the affects melanoma can have on loved ones. I lost my best friend Tom Linton in May 2020 to malignant melanoma and know how this disease can affect both the individual and loved ones. My role consists of managing counsellors, helping to grow the charity and also looking after our clients. I’ve loved working here from day one, and love to watch this amazing charity grow from strength to strength.
Claire Ball
Claire is one of our counsellors who works with clients both in the foundation and over zoom/telephone. Claire did her counselling placement at the foundation and enjoyed it so much she has stayed on afterwards. Claire also helps out with admin and runs the awareness sessions that we deliver to local businesses. Quote from Claire; “I feel very privileged to work for such a wonderful charity and to be able to help and support clients through extremely tough times. We are a really close team and I love my days in the foundation especially. I hope to work here for many years to come.”
Rhiannon Wilby
My name is Rhiannon. I’m a counsellor at Melanoma-Me. I joined the charity late 2024. I was drawn to working with Melanoma-Me due to my family’s experience with melanoma, and because I found the team to be so warm, welcoming and supportive. A melanoma diagnosis can be really difficult for both the affected person and their loved ones to cope with. My aim is to provide a safe space for clients to offload and process their feelings without judgement and find ways to cope. I’m an Integrative Counsellor and like to work collaboratively with clients to meet their needs and preferences, as whilst I know about counselling, I believe you are the expert on you.
Debs Dixon
My name is Debs and I joined Melanoma-Me as a counsellor back in 2020.Every week I see how much of an impact a melanoma diagnosis can have both mentally and physically on our clients and how it can also deeply affect their loved ones.I absolutely love working with the rest of the team and have huge admiration for the support our clients show each other when they come together each week. I see first-hand how much the clients benefit from walking into Melanoma-Me and how much at home and understood they feel. It is so heart-warming to see and really rewarding to be a part of. It is a privilege to work here.
Lucy
My name is Lucy and I joined the Melanoma Me team in July 2023. I am an Integrative counsellor focusing on the person-centred approach and providing a compassionate, non-judgemental space for clients to feel heard and supported. A diagnosis of Melanoma is often a unique and lonely experience and many fail to understand the impact it can have on lives. It is a privilege to be a counsellor for a charity that is so welcoming, accepting and understanding.
Claire Reynolds
Shelley Murray
I am Shelley and I am a Trustee and also facilitate individual and group sessions for the service users of Melanoma Me.
As a trustee, I am there to offer support and guidance to Kerry and the Melanoma Me staff as they manage the running of the charity. I help with organised charity events when possible and attend regular trustee meetings to discuss the charity’s performance and plans for the future.
The individual and group sessions are based on my full time work and are designed to bring the service users a space and time to relax. We work together on creating happiness and peace through meditation, gratitude practice, empowerment and accountability. From Aug 2023, I will also be offering a range of holistic therapies including Reiki, Crystal Healing and Reflexology which service users can book to support their own healing and relaxation.
Debs
Over the past 3 years i have seen Melanoma-Me grow from strength to strength with more clients reaching out and seeking help and watching the numerous events and campaigns that have taken part to help raise awareness. I am so pleased be a part of helping it to flourish even further by not just being a counsellor here but also a trustee and helping to continue promoting awareness and raising much needed funds to continue to support clients on their Melanoma journey.
Lynn
My name is Lynn, I have been a trustee with Melanoma-Me from the very beginning after Melanoma affected a very close family member and friend. I also have the privilege to offer beauty treatments to some of the clients of Melanoma-Me which is great as I get to know people on a more personal level. This charity is amazing and has gone from strength to strength enabling more support and awareness to people affected by Melanoma.
Susan
Hi, I’m Susan. A 46 year old wife and mam of 3 teenagers. A year ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma. What a shock. My life flipped upside down. I really struggled with processing the life changing diagnosis. I held a lot of emotions in as not to worry/scare the people in my life. Then I found melanoma.me. The support, friendships and being able to sit in a room full of people who really understood my situation, was and still is, very refreshing and positive. I would be lost without them. In order to help the charity grow and offer the amazing services that they do to as many people affected by melanoma as possible, I am now a trustee. I feel very proud and enthusiastic, I will help in any way I can.
Ronan
Hi I’m Ronan. Trustee, previous ambassador. Found the charity through my academic research and have been a proud member ever since! Since joining the MelanomaMe family I’ve experienced so many different opportunities with and learned a lot from the charity. MelanomaMe has not only developed my personal and professional skills, it has opened many doors for me – including getting me back at uni to specialise in skin cancer nursing. Becoming a trustee was my next step in supporting the charity and thanking them for empowering me.
Katie
Hi I’m Katie! I am an ambassador for melanoma me. I found the charity during lockdown and offered to help out in any way I could. Many of you may know me from the being a regular in the office. Ever since I have done my best to help raise awareness for the charity as well as awareness of melanoma. I love being part of the melanoma me team and assisting with all the events we do. Hope to see you all at another very soon! X
Gill
Hello i am Gill a very proud Ambassador of Melanoma-Me.
I became an ambassador after my own diagnosis with Malignant Melanoma back in 2020 I struggled with the information and treatments and through horrible times found this unbelievable charity who showed me light again.
I have been raising awareness and funds for the charity and will continue to do so, aswell as raise as much awareness of skin cancer as I can. Everyone at Melanoma-Me is so warm and welcoming, full of support, love and guidance.
Lorraine
Hello I’m Lorraine. I am an ambassador for melanoma me. I first found out about the charity through my daughter Katie who volunteered for Melanoma Me during lockdown then later became a part of the team. I became an ambassador when I saw through Katie how amazing the charity was and how vitally important it was to support them. Ever since I have done my best to help raise awareness for the charity as well as awareness of melanoma. I’m a teacher and artist so time doesn’t allow much time to be around as much as I’d like to but I help out where I can by supporting events and in particular helping with fundraising. I have created artwork for melanoma to help fundraise, you may have seen my Christmas card designs over the past three years and my blue butterfly artwork inspired by the logo which is printed onto products. I have more ideas for artwork just waiting to be painted and will continue to offer my time as an ambassador as long as I’m able.
