Our Core Values

Specialism

Melanoma is complicated, and living with it can feel overwhelming. By focusing on melanoma, we’ve been able to understand it deeply. That knowledge allows us to provide information, support, and guidance that actually makes a difference. It helps people feel more informed, more confident, and a little less alone.

Compassion

Compassion is at the heart of everything we do. Melanoma can change lives in an instant, and we see people at some of their most challenging moments. We listen, we care, and we stand alongside people and families with kindness and understanding. No one should face this journey alone, and we try to make sure they never do.

Integrity

Trust is everything. People turn to us in difficult times, and we don’t take that lightly. We act honestly, openly, and responsibly, and we always try to do what’s right, even when it’s not easy.

Inclusion

Melanoma touches everyone differently. We are committed to making sure everyone feels welcome, seen, and heard, no matter who they are or where they come from. Everyone deserves support, and we work to make that possible.

Collaboration

We know we can do more when we work together. We connect with patients, families, health professionals, researchers, and community partners because together we are stronger. Sharing knowledge and experiences helps us take real action and make life a little better for people affected by melanoma.

Sustainability

We want to make a lasting difference. That means thinking ahead, using our resources wisely, and building a foundation that will continue to support people now and in the future. We’re in this for the long haul.

In 2019 the charity evolved from its original status as a Community Interest Company and we have grown our services to include affordable or free support for people affected by melanoma as well as raising awareness across the community.

The reason for sharing Kerry’s story is for a few reasons, one, to raise awareness and to show people that Melanomas are not always obvious. Two, to reaffirm the need for psychological support for patients and carers, from an organisation that truly understands the complexity and trauma involved in diagnosis and living with Melanoma.
